Whitstable Oyster Festival returns from the 22nd – 24th July to a new home on Tankerton Slopes. Although significantly different to previous years, visitors and residents alike can still expect an eclectic programme of events for all ages based on the themes ofCommunity, Heritage & Environment.
The Oyster Food Fair will take place on Tankerton Slopes on the 22nd – 23rd July and visitors can expect a weekend of high quality food, drink and music on the beautiful grass slopes overlooking the sea.
Although the much loved Parade has had to give way to traffic concerns, a new Seafront Procession will take place from the Landing of the Oysters on East Quay Beach and along the promenade to Tankerton Slopes. The Procession will culminate here at the Food Festival with the hugely popular Oyster Eating Challenge.
Come and join Total Pap at the Horsebridge Centre from the 17th –22nd July. Decorate papier mache masks and fish for the Seafront Procession from the Landing of the Oysters to the Food Fair on Tankerton Slopes.
Monday 24th July is Children’s Day so head to the slopes for the Whitstabubble Picnic; bring a blanket and a picnic and let the kids run wild through a host of free activities with plenty of bubbles. Let’s Fly a Kite is the traditional end to the day before heading down to the Horsebridge Beach for the festival finale…. The much loved Grotters.
