The 2016 edition leaves no stone of entertainment unturned. Our child friendly festival venue ‘The Shuck’, hosts two weekends of headline live music performances and stand-up comedy evenings. Once the appetites have been suitably built up, sample the harbour`s finest fresh produce at the Fisherman`s Feast, naturally accompanied by a tipple from our fully licenced bar. Positioned at the tip of the Harbour’s West Quay with beautiful views across Whitstable Bay, you’ll be hard-pressed to find as sublime a festival venue as this.
The Harbour Food Fair (23rd & 24th and 30th & 31st), hosts global traders in addition to the local Whitstable Harbour stalls, making WOF an authentically British but cosmopolitan affair. Live music at the Beach and our busking area at Deadman’s Corner will take place over both weekends, accompanying your feasting experience and hopefully getting those hips moving.
The Festival has grown from a community celebration to a massive event, which sees 80,000 people from all across the UK and the world descend upon the seaside town for 10 days of quality food and live performances. With events ranging from a vivid street parade to the challenging (and undeniably entertaining) mud tug of war, outdoor cinema screenings and everything mentioned above, each one is unique but guaranteed to be similar in enjoyment.
The incomparability of the festival is matched by a glittering fireworks display gleaming upon the waters of the harbour to close the festivities. The flash finish serves to round off the unmatchable experiences of the week and act as a beautiful reminder to return next year.
